Radio Auction & Shopping Show (RASS) database management
RASS is an auction and shopping show software package developed for radio stations to eliminate the manual work involved in preparing and airing a radio auction and/or shopping show. Working with KDWA of Hastings, MN, Scherer Development created RASS to meet their needs. The initial version of RASS was released in June of 2003. RASS 2004 is the result of the many requests for enhancements and new features from KDWA as well as several other stations currently using RASS or testing the demo version. RASS 2004 was released in August of 2004. RASS 2006 included many new features. Future versions of RASS will be the result of the feedback we receive from current users and those that have viewed our demo version. We welcome any comments or requests you may have.
The cost of RASS 2006 is only $575.00 . Being a small business, Scherer Development understands that we all need to limit our expenses when we can. By limiting our expenses, we are able to provide our product to you at a reasonable rate. Other shopping show software packages can easily cost two, three or even four times as much. Some even take a percent of YOUR revenues.
RASS allows your station to set up items as auction, shopping show or reverse items. For auction items, the listeners place bids. The highest bid wins at the end of the show. Shopping show items are sold during the show at a set price generally reduced 40-60% off the retail value. Reverse items work the same as auction items, with a small difference. The initial discount is determined by the station, maybe a 20% discount. Throughout the show, the discount will continue to increase until a listener calls to purchase the item. As mentioned above, if you have other ways of handling your auction or shopping show, we would like to hear from you so we can add the necessary features to RASS.
